ARCOPOLplatform is also working to reinforce the preparedness of local and regional authorities when responding to HNS (Hazardous and Noxious Substances) spills affecting their coast.

To this extent and among others actions, all the available relevant HNS materials are being identified (guidelines, datasheets, maps, simulation models, videos, protocols and e-learning courses) and adapted for integration into contingency plans. Furthermore, dissemination materials such as videos, will be produced in order to raise local authorities’ awareness regarding HNS and to inform them about the availability of all the supporting documents selected.
